Position Overview:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming materials, parts, and supplies. This role ensures that all inbound shipments are verified against purchase orders and shipping documentation, entered into inventory systems, and routed to the appropriate storage or production locations. The Receiving Clerk plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting operational efficiency.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
-Oversee the timely and accurate receipt of inbound shipments.
- Conduct quality checks on received goods to ensure they meet our standards.
- Collaborate with procurement to resolve any discrepancies with incoming shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of received products and update inventory systems.
- Ensure that products are properly labeled, tagged, and stored in designated areas.
- Monitor and optimize the use of storage space in the warehouse.
- Implement safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
- Train, mentor, and motivate receiving staff to improve performance.
- Resolve any receiving-related issues and discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as inventory control and shipping, to meet organizational goals.
- Implement and maintain warehouse receiving policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
Personal Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a warehouse receiving or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of receiving and inventory management.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
· High school diploma required
Further Requirements:
Ability to work in an industrial environment close to Shipping docks with forklifts passing by frequently. Ability to stand, lift up to 80lb. boxes continually, and use tools the entire shift. Must have excellent range of motion for turning, bending and reaching. Must be able to stand, bend and reach for 10 hour shifts with only standard breaks.
